What is BRC Food Standard?
BRC Food Technical Standard is representing the audit standard to food supplier by the British Retail Consortium. Responding to food industry and needs, it developed and introduced to be used to evaluate food manufacturers and it is well recognized by UKAS and other accreditation councils (i.e. Netherlands, Italy...).
CIES, the international food business organization for more than 200 retailers and suppliers members world-wide, launched GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) in 2000. BRC Global Food Standard has been accredited and recommended to all the members by GFSI.

Not only the majority of UK retailers consider business with suppliers who have gained certification to the appropriate BRC Global Standard, but also retailers from Europe and US. They are:
